Pilotage and Dead Reckoning - 18 April 2025

Come heighten your spatial awareness at this FAA Safety Seminar on Pilotage and Dead Reckoning! Outside of flying, Alta’s flight instructor, Joe, is an expert orienteering (land navigation) athlete and is a qualified geographer who has a passion for helping people learn how to navigate both on the ground and in the air. His presentation will help you improve your aerial navigation techniques, and it will even delve into that oft-asked question, “where does that ‘dead reckoning’ term come from?”

The seminar will be held at the Ann Arbor, Michigan Municipal Airport (ARB) on April 18th, 2015 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the terminal building in the downstairs conference room.

Attendees are invited to pre-register here. This seminar qualifies for 1 Basic Knowledge “Wings” safety credit!
